Riding the River: Our Shenandoah Adventure with Pierre and Nick

Hey adventurers, Justin Matthew Newman here with another riveting tale from the great outdoors. This time, we're trading still lakes for the lively currents of the Shenandoah River, with my roommates and great friends, Pierre Ballard and Nick Spokes, for company.

Pierre, an engineer extraordinaire, designs substations for a company down in Georgia, while Nick, the tech titan of the apartment, is now a cybersecurity intern at Northrop Grumman.

Shenandoah River, let me tell you, is a treat for every adventurer's soul. It was bustling with life, mirroring the rhythm of nature in every ripple and every rush of the current. But what made our adventure truly unique was an unexpected sight - a few Amish folks tending to their farm along the river. It was like a snapshot from another time, adding a unique touch to our journey down the river.

Renting kayaks from the James Madison University Recreation Center for as little as $20, we had ourselves a river ride that won't soon be forgotten. What I love about this experience is its accessibility. Whether you're a JMU student looking for a break from the books or an adventurer seeking your next thrill, the Shenandoah River is waiting for you.

In essence, our Shenandoah River escapade was a day filled with camaraderie, unexpected encounters, and an intimate communion with nature. So if you're looking for your next outdoor adventure, I say grab a paddle, get your friends together, and head down to the Shenandoah River. It's an experience that will stay with you long after you've left the water. We parked off the Port Republic boat ramp and then parked another vehicle down river.

As always, I'm Justin Matthew Newman, reminding you to embrace the spirit of adventure. Keep paddling, keep exploring, and stay wild! Until next time!
